For the article, marketing director Simon Eder and graphic designer Joost de Boo were interviewed on the daring issue of the complete ‘Der Ring des Nibelungen’.
The article stresses the special and well thought design of the box set, as well as the risk that was being taken by releasing such a big and unique box set. According to the article, the box set is ‘Immodest Wagnerian design’ , which will definitely leave an impression on the Bayreuther Festspiele. The complete repertoire on the box set is performed by the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, and conducted by Marek Janowski, who will make his debut on the Bayreuther Festspiele this week.
As inspiration for the design, graphic designer Joost stated: ‘I have been looking to the project in A Wagnerian way. We have the lyrics, and we have the music and with that, Wagner made a Gesamtkunstwerk‘.
