The Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and it’s Music Director Rafael Payare have been nominated as a finalist for the ‘Album of the Year’ in the ‘Musiques classique, romantique, postromantique’ category at the Prix Opus awards in Canada. Their album, pairing Richard Strauss’s Ein Heldenleben and Gustav Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder, sung by superstar soprano Sonya Yoncheva was released in March this year to much critical acclaim.
The Prix Opus awards celebrate the excellence and diversity of concert music in Quebec in different musical genres. Artists will be recognised at the finale Gala on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the Bourgie Hall, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
