“I’ve enjoyed it so much it’s the Record Review disc of the Week – The orchestral playing’s excellent, the recording warm and airy, Albrecht’s conducting often deliciously under stated, totally supportive of the singer but bringing out splashes of colour, bringing the orchestra forward at key moments, surging and then retreating – all done with intelligence and sensitive. But it’s Alice Coote’s recital and she rise splendidly to the occasion – after the opening bars of the first wayfarers song you know you are in safe hands – the words caressed and encompassed with such care, the depth and delicacy and beauty of Coote’s tone as well.”
