PENTATONE on advisory board of Willem Pijper foundation

PENTATONE, represented by the Managing Director Dirk Jan Vink has been appointed to join the  Willem Pijper foundation’s advisory board.
"As a board member of the foundation you can keep the work of an important composer alive. Working for a classical music record label makes that you work on a daily basis to keep good and beautiful music alive and make it accessible via new records and launching new artists. With my work for the Willem Pijper foundation I have the chance to do this as well, for a composer who is not by default standard classical label recording repertoire."
Willem Pijper is considered one of the most important Dutch composers of the first half of the 20th century (interbellum). The foundation has the goals to keep the music of Willem Pijper and the person alive. Thereby the foundation launches initiatives to enable his music is played during performances, that is accessible for students and other young audience. Next to the music, Willem Pijper was also a writer/author. In 2011 ‘Het Papieren Gevaar’ was also published with the goal to keep him and his work alive .
"PENTATONE as a label really believes in the power of classical music. We believe that music is an irreplaceable source and pillar to the cultural human being," Dirk Jan adds.
Nieuwe Publicatie: 'Het Papieren Gevaar'
